Podcast Episode 10 Prophets, Revelation, Current Issues–LGBT, Female Equality
Faith Crisis and Reconstruction Podcast Series, Episode 10: Prophets, Revelation, Current Issues–LGBT, Female Equality
In this episode, I discuss the definition and role of the prophet and compare how that fits with the more humanistic, metaphorical model I have of the Church. I also discuss the concept of revelation and how it fits with within this paradigm of God and religion. Sustaining the prophet is a difficult issue for some. What does it mean to sustain the prophet, is it OK to disagree, and how do we express that disagreement as covenant-keeping Latter-day Saints? Then I go into a couple issues deeper where I have disagreement with the church: LGBT+ and female equality issues. I attempt to model how to express disagreement while sustaining the prophet.
